Coachs

Our coaches love swimming and they are committed to helping our swimmers to develop as athletes and to reach their individual goals. They also love having fun, and they can't wait to see everyone on deck. If you have coaching-specific questions, please contact our coaches at vstcoaches@gmail.com. General team questions can be sent to vergennesswimteam@gmail.com.

Her favorite events are the 1000 and one mile freestyle. Alex is looking forward to being back in the pool and on deck with everyone and having a fun summer!

Ally Stearns

Ally is returning for her second year as a VST coach. Prior to joining our coaching team, Ally was a VST swimmer from age 8 until she graduated from VUHS. In addition to swimming and coaching with our team, Ally is well known at the pool for her many years working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor.

Her favorite events are the 50 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. She is really excited to get back in the pool and hopes to have a summer filled with improved times, strokes, but most importantly, FUN!!!

Bill Clark

Bill is joining us for his first year as an official coach after years of working as a volunteer coach, VST board member and swim parent. Bill was a competitive swimmer in high school and competed at a national level as a freestyle sprinter. He is a certified USA Swimming coach and has worked as a swim instructor and coach since the age of 15.

Bill’s favorite events are the 50 freestyle and the 200 IM. He believes that the best part of swimming is watching the improvements swimmers make when they work hard. Bill’s goal for the 2018 season is to introduce lots of new swimmers to this sport and to focus on improving the skills of our existing swimmers through fun and challenging practices.
